If you were lucky enough to pick up a Farmers to Families Fresh Central Valley fruit box today you may have noticed a unique fruit was included in many of the boxes, a pluot.
Because of the merging of the plum and the apricot, pluots are a manifestation of the health benefits of both fruits. Pluots contain a variety of vitamins and minerals that could provide your body with a boost in immunity and other factors.
Pluots are grown in Tulare County too. A pluot has 80 calories, 19 grams of carbohydrate, 3 grams of fiber, 1 gram of protein, no fat, 225 milligrams potassium and 10 percent daily value of vitamin C. With 15 grams of sugar, pluots have more sugar than plums, providing a sweet flavor.
Enjoy!!!
